Favorite Native Trees for the Landscape with Dr. Donald Leopold

  • 8 North Arts Center 8 North Fort Thomas Avenue Fort Thomas, KY, 41075 United States (map)

We are excited to host Dr. Donald Leopold, Distinguished Teaching Professor and Department Chair of the College of Environmental Science and Forest Biology, State University of New York, Syracuse. Dr. Leopold is the brother of FTFC founding member and emeritus board member Mark Leopold. Dr. Leopold has graciously offered to give a talk on Favorite Native Trees for the Landscape, with a focus on Fort Thomas and neighboring areas, while he is in town visiting family.

The event will be held on July 2 at 5:30 pm at the 8 North Arts Center (8 North Fort Thomas Avenue, 41075). All are welcome. There are several local restaurants just a few steps away, and since FTFC loves a party atmosphere, feel free to grab a refreshment at one of them and bring it with you (the venue is in a DORA district).

Dr. Leopold is the author of Native Trees of the Southwest and Native Plants of the Northeast.  If you’ve ever wondered what to plant on your property, or just which trees are truly essential to our local ecology, come and grab some knowledge. The event is free. We will have books available for purchase.
