Trees are as close to immortality as the rest of us ever come." ― Karen Joy Fowler
The Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy invites the community to explore a rarely seen property along River Road on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Visitors will have the opportunity to walk a long-forgotten fill site created during the construction of I-275 in 1975 — land now being transformed into a future forest through the “Reforest NKY” initiative led by the Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy and the Northern Kentucky Urban and Community Forestry Council.
Volunteers from across Northern Kentucky planted 150 native trees on the site in March, restoring habitat and reimagining land once considered unusable into a place of ecological renewal and community stewardship. Come see the property and check out how our saplings are growing!
Parking available on the lower bench just up the first gravel road.
