Honeysuckle Removal Session

  • Tower Park Fort Thomas, KY (map)

Join us for a hands-on stewardship day focused on removing invasive honeysuckle and restoring the health of our local woodlands. Amur and bush honeysuckle may look harmless, but they spread aggressively, forming dense thickets that crowd out native wildflowers and tree seedlings. By leafing out earlier in the spring and holding leaves later into the fall, honeysuckle shades the forest floor and disrupts the natural balance that native plants and wildlife depend on.

During this event, volunteers will work together to remove honeysuckle and help create space for native species to return and thrive. This is a great opportunity to learn how invasive plants impact forest ecosystems, gain practical land stewardship skills, and make a visible difference in the landscape. All experience levels are welcome—just bring sturdy shoes, work gloves, and a willingness to get a little dirty for a good cause.
